| Dorset’s Jurassic
coast is so named because these extraordinary cliffs
provide a cross-section of geological time spanning
some 185 million years, encompassing the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods.
Embedded within the layers of rock are many fossils
- the cliffs are also referred to as the ‘dinosaur coast’. The Jurassic coast is a designated world heritage site because of its scientific importance.
There are few better ways to experience the
Jurassic cliffs than on a boat trip aboard the Christine Anne, a traditional fishing
vessel based in Dorset’s West Bay. Our boat is available for private
charter by up to 8 people for sightseeing cruises along the Jurassic coast
throughout the holiday season.
A boat trip gives you a great new perspective on these
magnificent cliffs and our sightseeing cruise of approximately 1-hour will
show you some of the dramatic cliff-forms that are inaccessible by land.
Our Jurassic cruise makes for a fun and memorable day out,
and is a great idea for your holiday in Dorset. Please contact us
to make arrangements for one of our coastal boat trips.
